Meet Dana
My name is Dana Bujalski. Enjoy this digital space where I not only share healthy delicious recipes for a balanced lifestyle, but also use my experiences to help others achieve balance and feel their very best to be their very best! I am a lover of all things health and wellness, which helps me keep my sweet tooth and busy social life in balance. I am currently located in Geneva, Illinois, living my dream as a Personal Chef, Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutritionist.
I graduated Elgin Community college in 2011 with a Culinary Arts Degree. I started working at local restaurants and gold clubs as a line cook immediately after I graduated. After about three years working back of the house, I had decided restaurants were certainly not my thing and I soon became a Personal Chef in my home town. Being a Personal Chef started out very slow, and I mean slow! I also worked a couple of other side jobs as I grew my clientele.
In 2014, I made the huge decision to move to Los Angeles to continue to pursue my dream and goals as a Personal Chef. It was a DREAM! California is beautiful and had the best of views working out of some gorgeous kitchens!
Four regular clients and one year later, I found myself missing Illinois. I packed up and moved back, starting from scratch with my clientele. Business slowly picked up, but while I continued to build my clientele, I thought I’d try a full-on meal-prep-style approach to my services and deliver meals to my clients instead of cooking in their homes. It was a major hit with my clients, but took a toll on me, as I prefer working with clients face-to-face instead of toiling away in a kitchen all day.
So I made the decision to go back to being a part-time, in-home Personal Chef, working another side job to fill in the gaps of my schedule. Fast forward 2.5 years later, I dropped the side job and pursed being a full-time Personal Chef, which was the best choice I’ve ever made, as I was finally getting booked on a weekly and monthly basis consistently!
The day before I moved back to Geneva from California, my sister sent me a note that said, “Chase Your Dreams.” Naturally, I tattooed it on my forearm for motivation and inspiration. I truly believe my sister’s words (and the help of the tattoo) fueled me to “Chase My Dreams” and become the successful Personal Chef I am today!
